White Friday on WhatsApp: a playbook for UAE and Saudi shops
White Friday is when Gulf shoppers expect offers on WhatsApp, and when a slow reply loses the sale. Here is the plan for the UAE and Saudi Arabia: consent, templates and timing, what Meta charges per message in each market, AI replies for the rush and payment links in the chat.

To run White Friday on WhatsApp in the UAE or Saudi Arabia, message only customers who opted in, get your marketing and order templates approved before the season, send a small number of well-timed offers, and be ready to answer and take payment in the chat within minutes. A marketing message costs $0.0576 per delivery to both markets on Meta’s October 2026 rate card, so a focused list beats a big one.
This guide gives a timeline, the rules and prices for each market, and the MonoChat setup for replies and payments. For the general Black Friday rules (template pacing, per-user limits, avoiding blocks), see our Black Friday WhatsApp playbook.
What White Friday means for a Gulf shop
White Friday is the name many Gulf retailers and marketplaces use for their late-November sale, around Black Friday on Friday 27 November 2026. Big marketplaces usually stretch it into a week or more, and shoppers compare offers across apps. As of 29 October 2026 we found no official 2026 dates: plan for the week of 23 November and move your sends when your marketplaces publish their windows.
What changes on WhatsApp in this week:
- Questions spike. “Is it in stock?”, “When will it arrive in Jeddah?”, “Can I pay with Tabby?” arrive at the same time as your launch message.
- Payment decides the sale. Shoppers expect to pay in instalments or by card from a link, without hunting for the product again on your site.
- Customers block fast. A third offer in two days is a block, and blocks lower your quality during the one week that matters.
The rules before you send
Consent comes first
Meta allows business-initiated messages only to people who gave you their number and agreed to hear from you on WhatsApp, and you must honour every request to stop. Local law points the same way: the UAE has Federal Decree-Law 45/2021 on personal data, and Saudi Arabia’s Personal Data Protection Law is supervised by SDAIA. Collect consent at checkout, on your site and in store before November; our WhatsApp opt-in guide has wording.
Templates, approved early
Anything you start outside the 24-hour customer service window needs an approved template. Offers are marketing templates; order and delivery messages are utility templates, as long as they carry no promotion. Write both in Arabic and English, and submit them in early November so a rejection doesn’t stall the launch.
One messaging limit for all your numbers
Meta limits how many people you can send templates to in a moving 24 hours, and the limit is shared by all numbers in your business portfolio. Check yours now. If you plan to reach 20,000 people on launch day and your limit is 2,000, warm up with smaller campaigns first. The broadcast limit guide explains the tiers.
A White Friday timeline for 2026
| When | What to do |
|---|---|
| By 6 November | Opt-in on checkout and forms; Arabic and English templates submitted; payment systems tested |
| 9 to 20 November | One or two small campaigns to warm up your limit and check template quality |
| Week of 16 November | ”White Friday is coming” to your most engaged customers, with a reply button to get the link first |
| Launch day | Launch message by segment; AI agent and team on the inbox |
| During the sale | Order and delivery updates; no extra offers to people who already bought |
| Last day of your sale | One reminder to people who replied or clicked but didn’t buy |
Three marketing messages per person across the whole season is plenty.
What it costs in the UAE and Saudi Arabia
Meta charges per delivered message by category and the recipient’s country. From Meta’s USD rate card effective 1 October 2026, at the base tier:
| Recipient | Marketing | Utility and service |
|---|---|---|
| Saudi Arabia | $0.0576 | $0.0107 |
| United Arab Emirates | $0.0576 | $0.0157 |
Example budgets:
| Campaign | Volume | Meta fees |
|---|---|---|
| Launch offer to Saudi customers (marketing) | 20,000 | $1,152 |
| Launch offer to UAE customers (marketing) | 10,000 | $576 |
| Order confirmations in Saudi Arabia (utility) | 5,000 | $53.50 |
| Order confirmations in the UAE (utility) | 3,000 | $47.10 |
Since 1 October 2026 replies inside the customer service window are charged too, at the utility rate, after 1,000 free service messages a month per business phone number. A customer who writes to you from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad opens a free entry point window of up to 7 days when you reply in time, in which Meta charges no message fees. Meta bills in USD; MonoChat adds no markup. The pricing guide covers the full rate card, and the bulk messaging calculator does the sums for your mix.
Answer the rush with an AI agent and your team
During the sale most questions repeat. An AI agent can answer stock, size, delivery-time and return questions from the knowledge you give it, in Arabic or English, and hand the conversation to a person when the customer wants to buy something complex, complains or asks for a person. Two habits keep it safe:
- Give it your White Friday terms (dates, delivery cut-offs, return rules) as knowledge before the launch, not after the first wrong answer.
- Route payment problems and complaints straight to people.
See AI-to-human handoff for the triggers worth using.
Take payment in the chat
MonoChat connects Gulf payment providers, so a customer can pay from a link in the same conversation:
| Provider | Type | Where (as connected in MonoChat) |
|---|---|---|
| Tabby | Buy now, pay later | UAE and Saudi Arabia |
| Tamara | Buy now, pay later | Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman |
| Telr, Ziina, Mamo | Payment gateways | UAE |
| PayTabs | Payment gateway | UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt (region per payment system) |
| Tap | Payment gateway | GCC: cards, KNET, mada, Benefit |
| HyperPay | Payment gateway | mada and cards |
| Paymob | Payment gateway | Egypt, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman |
Add your provider under Settings › Payment › Payment Systems. In a flow, the Send Payment Request node creates the order and sends the link with the amount you set, and the New Payment Received event continues the flow when the customer pays, for example with a thank-you and the order confirmation. These connectors don’t do refunds from MonoChat yet, so handle refunds in your provider’s dashboard. Our guide to Tabby and Tamara on WhatsApp covers instalments in detail.
Run it in MonoChat
MonoChat is an official Meta Business Partner, headquartered in Dubai. A simple setup for the week:
- Collect consent. An Opt-in node in your welcome flow asks for permission and stores the answer; tag the customers who agreed.
- Segment. Tag recent buyers, cart abandoners and people who asked to get the link first, and send each group its own template through WhatsApp bulk messaging.
- Test the offer on a share first. A Random Split node can send a new offer to 10% of a segment and the old one to 90%; compare the branches with the flow builder’s link counts for the last 7 days before you send to everyone.
- Answer and route. Turn on your AI agent for the repeated questions and route buying and complaint chats to your team in the shared team inbox.
- Get paid. Add Send Payment Request where the customer confirms the order, and follow up with New Payment Received.
- Respect “stop”. A button or reply that says stop tags the customer and removes them from every marketing segment.
Start on the free Basic plan at app.monochat.ai. Growth is $120 a month; see the pricing page.
