Telegram rules
How Telegram bot broadcasts work
Telegram sets the boundaries for bulk messaging from bots. Plan your broadcasts around them.
-
Only people who started your bot
Bots cannot start conversations. A person has to message your bot or press Start before they can receive a broadcast.
-
Free to send, with a speed limit
Bots message their users at no cost by default. Bulk sending is limited to about 30 messages per second.
-
Paid broadcasts for very large bots
Bots with at least 100,000 monthly active users and 100,000 Stars can send up to 1,000 messages per second for 0.1 Star per extra message.
-
Subscribers stay in control
Anyone can stop or block your bot at any time, so relevant, well-timed messages keep your audience.
Announcements
Turn an announcement into enrolments

- Interested replies are tagged for your sales team

FAQ
Telegram broadcast FAQ
Who you can reach, how fast you can send and what it costs.
Can I send bulk messages with a Telegram bot?
Yes. A Telegram bot can send the same message to many users, as long as each of them has started a chat with the bot. You cannot use a bot to message phone numbers or usernames that never contacted it.
Who receives a Telegram bot broadcast?
Only people who messaged your bot or pressed Start and have not blocked it. Telegram bots cannot start conversations, so grow your audience by sharing your t.me link, a QR code or a button on your website.
How many Telegram messages can a bot send per second?
Telegram limits bulk sending to about 30 messages per second across users, about one message per second in a single chat and 20 messages per minute in a group. Bots with at least 100,000 monthly active users and 100,000 Stars can turn on paid broadcasts for up to 1,000 messages per second.
Does Telegram charge for broadcast messages?
By default, bots message their users at no cost. Only paid broadcasts above the free 30 messages per second cost 0.1 Star per message. In MonoChat, outgoing messages count toward your plan, and the free plan includes 1,000 a month.
What is the difference between a bot broadcast and a Telegram channel?
A channel post goes to every subscriber of the channel in the same way. A bot broadcast lands in each person’s private chat with your bot, can be sent to a specific segment, and every reply comes back to your inbox as a conversation.
How do subscribers unsubscribe from Telegram broadcasts?
People can stop or block your bot at any time. You can also add an unsubscribe button or command that tags the contact, and exclude that tag from every segment. Follow the consent rules that apply to marketing messages in your country.
